Abstract

The article proves the importance and necessity of the formation of national identity of the younger generation in India. India is a country where there was an interplay and interpenetration of various cultures and religions. Indian people reflect the manifold of their country, its nature and climate, languages and lifestyle, religions and cultural artifacts. The ethnic population of modern India is incredibly diverse which is explained by the historical factors, namely invasions and conquests which were accompanied by migration flows that assimilated and identified the ethnic diversity. The article focuses on the role of the leisure activity in the national consciousness formation of a person. Clubs and other small organizations help children meet the needs in informal communication and familiarize with national culture and traditions of the country. The organization of leisure activity in some Indian schools is considered.
