Abstract

The article presents the results of the research dealing with the changes in the intensity of social and psychological maturity of students majoring in various subjects in educational institutions of the North Caucasus and the Western Siberia, during the period of training at the university. The author uses the "Self-metaphor" technique. It has been found that the peculiarity of social and psychological development of students majoring in psychology in comparison to students majoring in the natural sciences and humanities is to focus on the character of social demand to their profession.
