ARTISTIC LANGUAGE OF MODERN STYLE IN SOVIET DESIGN

Abstract

The paper presents the author’s approach to the study of the design on the cusp of the 1950-1960s as a concept of a new artistic language. Based on a comparative analysis of the space development principles and living environment within the framework of the avant-garde, Soviet neoclassicism, and modern style, a conclusion is drawn about a fundamentally new character and the actual birth of mass design in the late 1950s and early 1960s, which suggested not the adaptation of art to conditions living environment in the form of an artistic utterance (as part of the search for the avant-garde and Soviet neoclassicism), but forming through the industry (furniture, art industry, etc.) new living environment, addressed to a private person.
