
Visual programming adds a distinctive, interactive and practical dimension to the process of exploring complex concepts in the STEAM field. In this article, we aim to enhance, from the perspective of both STEAM and visual programming, the opportunities for using measurement tools. The reality in the Republic of Moldova indicates that some measurement tools included in the school curriculum are insufficient or lacking in laboratory equipment. The calliper or micrometre might remain only theoretical concepts on paper. We propose, as a STEAM tool, a series of custom-designed applications created in a visual programming environment. These applications reproduce the functionalities of the following measurement tools: scale, timer, micrometre, and calliper.
