The paper is devoted to the study of the works of A.P. Chekhov in the educational institutions of Vietnam from the middle of the 19th century and until now. The author shows what works of this writer were presented in the literature textbooks of Vietnam, the information on the publications, existing at that time on the biography and works of the great Russian canonical writer is presented as well. In this article, the author also notes that, unfortunately, not much time was given to the works of A.P. Chekhov, so students could get themselves familiar with Russian literature only from the fragments of several works. As a result, the graduates of Vietnamese educational institutions have rather slight knowledge of the writer's works.
