Critical Pluralism: History of Science and Debates on Education in Psychology

Abstract

Cet article présente les résultats d'une analyse empirique dans une perspective historique sur les points de vue des psychologues professionnels argentins sur l'histoire de la psychologie dans les programmes d'études des psychologues. Afin de fournir des données sur l'enseignement de l'histoire de la psychologie en Argentine au cours des 25 dernières années, une analyse de contenu a été effectuée sur les sources primaires pertinentes pour l'enseignement de la psychologie en Argentine : recherches sur la formation et l'éducation des psychologues locaux et régionaux vers les années 1990, dossiers sur les paramètres d'accréditation des programmes de psychologie de premier cycle argentins et règlements ministériels sur les processus d'accréditation. L'objectif était de caractériser les contenus historiques et historiographiques de ces sources. Une présence constante de contenus historiques a été trouvée dans les documents, bien qu'avec des accents et des caractérisations dissemblables. Ainsi, l'histoire des sciences serait conçue comme un contenu de base, introductif et essentiel pour promouvoir une vision pluraliste et complexe de la discipline. Nous concluons sur certains défis posés par les futures révisions des programmes.

Este artículo presenta los resultados de un análisis empírico en perspectiva histórica sobre las opiniones de los psicólogos profesionales argentinos sobre la historia de la psicología en los planes de estudio de los psicólogos. Con el fin de proporcionar datos sobre la enseñanza de la historia de la psicología en Argentina en los últimos 25 años, se realizó un análisis de contenido sobre fuentes primarias relevantes para la enseñanza de la psicología en Argentina: investigaciones sobre la formación y educación de psicólogos locales y regionales hacia la década de 1990, dossiers sobre los parámetros de acreditación de los programas de psicología de pregrado argentinos y regulaciones ministeriales sobre los procesos de acreditación. El objetivo era caracterizar los contenidos históricos e historiográficos de dichas fuentes. En los documentos se encontró una presencia constante de contenidos históricos, aunque con énfasis y caracterizaciones disímiles. Por lo tanto, la historia de la ciencia se concebiría como un contenido básico, introductorio y vital para promover una visión pluralista y compleja de la disciplina. Concluimos sobre ciertos retos que plantean las futuras revisiones curriculares.

This paper presents the results of an empirical analysis in historical perspective on the views of Argentine professional psychologists about the history of psychology in psychologists' curricula. In order to provide data about the teaching of history of psychology in Argentina over the past 25 years, a content analysis was carried out on primary sources relevant to psychology's teaching in Argentina: researches on the training and education of local and regional psychologists towards the 1990's, dossiers on Argentinian undergraduate psychology programs' accreditation parameters, and ministerial regulations on the accreditation processes. The aim was to characterize the historical and historiographic contents in such sources. A constant presence of historical contents was found in documents, although with dissimilar emphases and characterizations. Thus the history of science would be conceived as a basic, introductory and vital core content for promoting a pluralistic, complex view of the discipline. We conclude on certain challenges posed by future curricular revisions.

تعرض هذه الورقة نتائج تحليل تجريبي من منظور تاريخي حول آراء علماء النفس الأرجنتينيين المحترفين حول تاريخ علم النفس في مناهج علماء النفس. من أجل توفير بيانات حول تدريس تاريخ علم النفس في الأرجنتين على مدى السنوات الخمس والعشرين الماضية، تم إجراء تحليل للمحتوى حول المصادر الأولية ذات الصلة بتدريس علم النفس في الأرجنتين: أبحاث حول تدريب وتعليم علماء النفس المحليين والإقليميين في التسعينيات، وملفات حول معايير اعتماد برامج علم النفس الجامعية الأرجنتينية، واللوائح الوزارية حول عمليات الاعتماد. كان الهدف هو توصيف المحتويات التاريخية والتاريخية في مثل هذه المصادر. تم العثور على وجود مستمر للمحتويات التاريخية في الوثائق، على الرغم من التشديدات والتوصيفات المتباينة. وبالتالي سيتم تصور تاريخ العلم كمحتوى أساسي وتمهيدي وحيوي لتعزيز وجهة نظر تعددية ومعقدة للانضباط. نستنتج بعض التحديات التي تطرحها المراجعات المستقبلية للمناهج الدراسية.
