Soils of moderately dry subzones suffer from periodic drought, deflation and require actions that can weaken the effect of adverse environmental factors. The most relevant measure to stabilize the process of desertification of a dry steppe is to create and maintain viable shelterbelts. Shelterbelts provide soils with favorable conditions, which change the morphological features of soils profile.
