Present Progressive Affixes and Their Use With Time Determinants in Turkish Language No independent present progressive affix had been observed during the verb operations in Turkish language until a specific period. The present progressive affixes, which have bben in use since the beginning of the first periods of the Old Anatolian Turkish, display usage characteristics different from one another. As for time determinants, they appear to function as the words limiting and determing the time affixes. The present article aims both to put forward the role of the time determinants in the use of the present progressive affixes, which are used to express the same time segment, but at the same time, making their being different felt since the very beginning, and to make findings through examining the samples making use of time determinants

Türk dilinde fiil işletimi sırasında belli bir döneme kadar müstakil bir şimdiki zaman eki görülmemektedir. Eski Anadolu Türkçesinin ilk dönemlerinden itibaren kullanılan şimdiki zaman ekleri birbirlerinden farklı kullanım özellikleri gösterirler. Zaman belirleyiciler ise zaman eklerini sınırlayan ve belirleyen kelimeler olarak karşımıza çıkarlar. Bu yazıda aynı zaman dilimini ifade etmek için kullanılan ama daha en başından ayrılıklarını hissettiren şimdiki zaman eklerinin kullanımında zaman belirleyicilerinin rolünü ortaya koyabilmek ve zaman belirleyicilerle kullanılan örnekleri inceleyerek bir tespitte bulunabilmek amaçlanmıştır
