Abstract

Seit den Forschungen Elke Axmachers (1978ff) ist bekannt, dass Teile der "Poesia" von J.S. Bachs Matthäuspassion BWV 244 sprachmotivische und theologische Allusionen zu den Passionspredigten des Rostocker Theologen Heinrich Müller aufweisen. Die signifikanten Divergenzen in der sprachlichen und formalen Gestalt der Erstausgaben der Predigten wurden von Axmacher ansatzweise thematisiert, haben bis heute aber keine plausible Erklärung gefunden. Die Studie rekonstruiert anhand von Autopsien überlieferter Exemplare und ergänzender Quellenfunde die Entstehungsgeschichten der Überlieferungsträger sowie die erstaunlich regionalspezifische Rezeptionsgeschichte der späteren Auflagen.
