Abstract

Contexto: En la crianza artificial de terneros, los animales son susceptibles a desórdenes gástricos, muchos de los cuales tienen su origen en incorrectas prácticas nutricionales. Objetivo: El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo obtener un biopreparado simbiótico a partir de la mezcla de pulpa de henequén (Agave fourcroydes Lem.) y PROBIOLACTIL® para su aplicación en terneros. Métodos: En el diseño y optimización del biopreparado se empleó el método de superficie respuesta con un diseño experimental compuesto central rotativo 22 y dos repeticiones en el centro del plan. Se utilizó pulpa de henequén con la adición de miel final e hidrolizado de levaduras como fuente de azúcares y nitrógeno respectivamente y PROBIOLACTIL® para la suplementación de Lactobacillus salivarius. Se realizó un experimento durante 28 días, con diseño completamente aleatorizado, para evaluar el efecto de este aditivo en indicadores productivos y de salud de terneros de la raza Mambí de Cuba durante la etapa de destete en recría. Resultados: Como resultado se obtuvieron los valores óptimos para los componentes del biopreparado que aumentan la población de Lactobacillus. Se demostró que la aplicación del aditivo obtenido mejoró los indicadores de peso vivo, ganancia media diaria e incremento de peso a partir de los 21 días e incidió en la salud, al disminuir la ocurrencia de diarreas. Conclusiones: El biopreparado, diseñado a partir de la aplicación de un cultivo probiótico a residuos agroindustriales, enriquecido con componentes nacionales y de alta disponibilidad, constituye un biopreparado simbiótico que puede emplearse como aditivo nutricional en terneros, durante la etapa de destete.
