This guide aims to engage secondary school teachers and teacher educators in three distinct, but interconnected aspects of justice – environmental, epistemic and transitional justice – and provide guidance and tools to help them embed a justice approach in their teaching and educational practice. PART 1 of this guide gives an overview of a Justice Approach to Education. PART 2 explains the key concepts of environmental, epistemic and transitional justice and how they can be integrated into teaching. PART 3 summarises six pedagogical dimensions and illustrates how they can be put into practice. This includes recommended activities that can be used to integrate a justice approach to teaching. PART 4 includes sample activities – situated in the contexts of Nepal, Uganda and Peru – indicating the use of six pedagogical dimensions in practice for teaching environmental, epistemic and transitional justice.
