Based on historic data about the prevalence of breathlessness in British coal miners and data about the prevalence of type 2 diabetes in German women, age-specific incidence is estimated. The source code for use with the open statistical software R (The R Foundation of Statistical Computing) comprises the data as well as the necessary calls to estimate the incidence with confidence bounds (based on maximum likelihood theory). The source code was tested using 64-bit R version 4.1.0 on 1) an ACER Aspire notebook with Linux Mint 21 2) a desktop PC operated by Windows 7. Numerical results were compared and found being equal.
