Figure S1 further shows that as HL traversed the GoM (in dash black), it intensified continuously as depicted by the colored circles described in the legend. The inverted cyan triangles denote daily mean positions of NG645 in track, 9 days ahead of HL (08/16 to 08/26 23z). The star, in magenta, represents the location of the StM.
