"VIRGENS DO BECO É SHOW": PERFORMANCES DE UMA QUADRILHA HUMORÍSTICA EM SANTARÉM, PA

Abstract

Este artigo é resultado de uma monografia da graduação que objetiva compreender as expressões e os sentidos cômicos nas performances de quadrilhas juninas categorizadas como “humorística”, em Santarém, Pará. Como unidades empíricas de análise, foram delimitadas as apresentações realizadas pela chamada As Virgens do Beco, as quais se destaca pela combinação de dança, teatro e humor que, em parte, se assemelha às quadrilhas convencionais, mas também se distingue ao direcionar parte de sua apresentação ao objetivo de provocar o riso no público. O foco do trabalho recai nos aspectos cômicos das performances, além de traçar um paralelo acerca da noção de sociabilidade entre público e plateia. Do ponto de vista teórico-metodológico, a pesquisa se alinha aos estudos de antropologia da performance na medida em que assume as apresentações da quadrilha como conjuntos de situações ritualizadas e dá ênfase às interações face a face nas apresentações observadas de acordo com princípios básicos da etnografia. Além de contar com a documentação visual produzida nas apresentações utilizadas como recurso importante nesta investigação. Com intuito de entender as dinâmicas sociais estabelecidas em contextos juninos e interpretar os conteúdos risíveis captados a partir da sua atuação, foi percebido durante as observações em campo que apesar da execução dos ensejos serem previamente gravadas, em sua maioria o momento das apresentações decorre de um improviso com a finalidade de causar o riso.
