Ecology: This species was found in both permanent and semi-permanent environments. It was recorded from 266 to 895 m a.s.l., in cold waters (mean annual temperature 9 °C), with electrical conductivity values ranging from 420 to 921 μS/cm, and alkaline waters (pH value 9.11).
