Remarks Acalypha inselbergensis was described based on a single collection found on a granitic rocky outcrop (inselberg) in northeastern Brazil. However, very shortly afterwards, it was discovered that this species is widely distributed in the Caatinga Domain of Brazilian northeast, and up to 27 different collections are currently known (Marciel-Júnior et al. 2020).
