The goal of this survey is to better understand the nature and scope of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression change efforts (SOGIECE), or “conversion therapy” in Canada. We define SOGIECE as any practice that attempts to deny, discourage, or delay feelings of sexual attraction to members of the same gender (e.g., felt identity as lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer [LGBQ], etc.), LGBQ identities, non-conforming gender expressions, or gender identities that differ from sex at birth (e.g., transgender).
