Early Literacy Selective Attention Test for Windows This test serves the purpose of testing how well the subjects selective attention processes is developed in relation to letter recognition. The idea of the test is to see if the subject can correctly recognize and react upon the target letter shown on the screen among filler letters and distractors. The letters are arranged in a 2 by 2 grid where within 3 filler letters and a target letter is randomly placed. The target letter can either by p or b. The fillers are l, h and y. Aside from the four letters a fifth distractor letter is found in the center above the 2 by 2 grid. The distractors can be p, b, or g. thus the distractors can be the same as the target thus congruent, it can be the "opposite" p as target, b as distractor or b as target and p as distractor thus incongruent. or g can be distractor thereby showcasing a neutral distractor scenario. The distractors can be presented in three different ways: visually, auditory or audio-visually. Thereby are there 18 different combinations 3 distractor scenarios x 3 presentation forms x 2 targets these 18 combinations are presented twice per block of trials, thus 36 trials per block. The program consist of 4 blocks. Between every block the subject are capable of taking a break. before the four blocks two training sessions of 9 trials are presented. one at a normal speed and one where the stimulus is shown for a longer time thus a slow training session. Each trial consist of 0.2 s stimulus presentation, 5 second blank screen and 0.5 second feedback upon the reaction given to the stimulus. For each trial the reaction time, stimulus presentation and the correctness of the response is saved. To get an overview of the program please see below document Thereby are there Supplementary material for article.docx Development This software has been developed in Unity. In order to execute it please install Unity 2021.3.11f or later. if you want the executable file please contact Andreas Wulff-Abramsson Acknowledgements I would like to thank Marta Topor for helping with the idea, design and test of the software Rasmus Ahmt Hansen and Anne Husted Henriksen for testing and suggesting changes Jacob Wienecke for supervising the process Ruben Schachtenhaufen for creating the audio files
