The aim of this survey was to find out how the existing guidelines and recommendations for imaging natural history collections (NHCs) have been adopted and used by the community and what are the obstacles that hinder their use. The survey covered all types of curated natural history specimens held in institutions holding NHCs across the world. The survey served as the basis for discussion for a workshop on digital imaging held in Heraklion, Crete, in June 2022 under the MOBILISE Cost Action CA17106.
