Balancing the Belgian electricity system for maximal use of Renewable Energy generation by a Grid Injection Limit Algorithm and optimal Battery deployment (BREGILAB) started in 2018 as an Energy Transition Found project (ETF). This report provides results, analysis and additional information within BREGILAB project and the TIMES-BE model primary role. The report is organized starting from the description of the changes that TIMES-BE underwent to make it possible to answer the research questions from the results of a long-term, integrated and detailed energy system model, covering the impact of hourly demand profiles, deployment of electricity-based technologies (electric vehicles and heat pumps), interconnection capacity, solar PV and wind penetration, and the use of renewable electricity to produce molecules.
