DISBIOSE INTESTINAL: EFICÁCIA DO USO DE PREBIÓTICOS E PROBIÓTICOS NA MANUTENÇÃO E RECUPERAÇÃO DA MICROBIOTA INTESTINAL

Abstract

O trato gastrointestinal (TGI) hospeda uma vasta microbiota, onde os microorganismos fazem parte importante de inúmeras atividades fundamentais para a manutenção da homeostase intestinal. Estudos comprovam que problemas como disbiose são ocasionados por um desequilíbrio da microbiota intestinal e por alguns fatores que estão intimamente ligados à vida moderna, à alimentação, fazendo com que haja um aumento expressivo da disbiose nos últimos anos. Osprebióticos são componentes alimentares não-digeríveis que afetam beneficamente o hospedeiro pelo estímulo seletivo da proliferação ou atividade de populações de bactérias desejáveis no cólon. São encontrados em alguns leites e fórmulas lácteas, na banana, cebola, alcachofra e cereais integrais. Os probióticos são microrganismos vivos capazes de melhorar o equilíbrio microbiano intestinal produzindo efeitos benéficos à saúde do indivíduo. Existem no mercado saches e cápsulas de vários tipos de probióticos e prebióticos. Nos alimentos encontrados no mercado, hoje temos leites e bebidas fermentadas e iogurtes que contêm probióticos.
