Objective: The purpose of this article is informing the population about poliomyelitis in it’s historical, physiopathological and clinical context, discoursing about the risks, diagnostic criteria, treatment and the importance of the vaccination against it. Method: Through the writing of the e-book, by students of the Nursing and Medicine course that are part of the Extension Project VacinAção (“VaccinAction”), using the online platforms Canva and Google Meet, it was possible to summarize the main points related to Poliomyelitis, this content is available for free to the public at the Project's profile on instagram. To release the e-book, a live was held on the Project's instagram profile with a pediatric infectologist. Results: As a result, the e-book had 13 official downloads, in addition to possible shares of this material by extra official ways that could not be accounted for. Through the live and the e-book, information considered essential for a good understanding of the disease by the lay public was passed on, which can contribute to the increase in vaccination coverage rates - which has decreased in recent years. Final Considerations: In addition, aiming to increase the reach of information related to several other diseases to the population, the project proposes other methods of disseminating content, such as holding lectures in schools, which take place for elementary and high school students, besides new plans that are being presented, such as presentations in public squares, health units and other public places, in a simplified and accessible way to integrate the effect of science in society's daily life and act in primary health prevention.
