Work Package 7.4 aims to design, construct, and test two very high gradient (up to 200 MV/m on the cathode) C-band (5.712 GHz) electron RF Guns. The first of these RF guns is a Standing-Wave (SW) with 2.5 accelerating cells and the second a many-celled traveling-wave (TW) structure incorporating the photocathode in the very first cell. The present Milestone reports on the details of the electromagnetic and mechanical design of the two guns.
