71. Rhipicephalus senegalensis Koch, 1844a. An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla, but they have also been found on Mammalia (several orders) and rarely on Anseriformes: Anatidae. Immature stages have been collected from Carnivora: Herpestidae, Rodentia: Muridae, Sciuridae and Thryonomyidae, and Macroscelidea: Macroscelididae. Rhipicephalus senegalensis is a rare parasite of humans.
