This dataset contains RGB (wide-angle) and thermal nadir images collected by a drone using an H20T camera. The data was collected on August 30,2022 over an 8 ha forest stand roughly 3.5km away from the Cynthia Hamlet in Alberta, Canada. The region is at an elevation of around 950m above sea level. Pine and aspen make up the majority of the tree species found within the images. More details about the camera can be found at https://www.dji.com/ca/zenmuse-h20-series/specs. There are 814 RGB images having dimensions 4056x3040 and 814 thermal images having dimensions 640x512, taken at the same time. The images are taken at a flight height of 120, and such that there is 75% side overlap and 80% front overlap between successive thermal images. The main purpose of this data is to perform orthomosaicing for the two modalities.
