Maria Montessori, an educator and the first female doctor in Italy, spoke about the education of children in a distinctive way, calling it education of the soul. Among the many famous quotes that she had, a certain one caught my atention: "We shouldn't educate our children for the world we're curently living now, the same world will not exist when they will grow up and nothing can tell us how it will be, we should however teach them how to adapt." From this we can assume that for her, the key to a successful education consists in offering the child, as a parent, the right of making his own choices and the oportunity to think and express himself freely without restriction. We can often observe the tendency to protect our children and from a desire to shield them from harm we isolate them from society, keeping them away from the daily strugles of life and end up making the choices that will decide their future.
