Hierodula majuscula (Tindale, 1923) This species has been frequently misidentified as H. atrocoxata Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1898 in overseas collections. H. atrocoxata is a smaller species that lacks orange on the forecoxae and is otherwise only known from Indonesia (Brunner von Wattenwyl 1898). Of note is that a small adventive population of this species is known from Tondoon Botanic Gardens, Gladstone, having likely arrived in tropical plants from further north (Britstra 2020). They have seemingly not spread far beyond the initial introduction point.
