We report a facile one-step hydrothermal method to prepare porous MnO 2 nanorods at 110 C for their application as electrode materials for high-quality supercapacitors [1] . The materials is characterized by X-ray diffraction, Transmission electron microscope, nitrogen gas adsorption measurements [2] . The electrochemical utilization of manganese dioxide (MnO 2 ) is investigated by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge discharge in aqueous 1M KOH electrolyte. The BET surface area of the MnO 2 is ranging between 278 m 2 /g. Since very similar specific capacitance values of about 236 F/g at 5 mV/s is found for samples, MnO 2 electrochemical utilization is more related to the pore size distribution as well as nanoroad size. Moreover, the efficiency of this supercapacitor is 97.4% retained even after 10000 charge/discharge cycles at 10 mA/g current density. The supercapacitor exhibits specific energy 5.18 Wh/kg and specific power of 242 W/kg.
