ジャズ音楽のピアノ演奏における発音時刻の可視化システムの提案

Abstract

ジャズにはスウィングといわれるリズムで演奏するなど,必ずしも楽譜上のジャストなタイミングで演奏されないことが多い.しかし,演奏者や曲によって発音のタイミングをどの程度ずらすかは様々である. これまでジャズを対象とした発音タイミングの分析が行われてきた.これらの研究では,8分音符のずれに着目したものが多数あったが,重要な特徴はこれだけではない.ジャズミュージシャンは8分音符だけを演奏するわけではなく,16分音符の発音のタイミングをずらすこともある.そのため,発音タイミングの全体を可視化することが有効であると考えられる. 本研究では,ジャズのピアノ演奏のオーディオを対象とし,既存の発音時刻検出技術やビート解析技術を使って発音時刻とビート時刻を検出し,発音タイミング全体を可視化する方法を提案する. 8つの演奏を可視化した図を比較した結果,演奏間の類似点,相違点を読み取ることができた.具体的には,すべてのテータムにおいて鋭いピークが読み取れる演奏があったことから16分音符での発音のずれが読み取れることがわかった.一方で,鋭いピークが読み取れない演奏があった.これは,様々な要因が考えられるが,そのうちの一つとしてテンポが遅いことが共通しており,発音時刻の検出が細かすぎたため本研究の可視化の提案手法では読み取れなかったと考えられる.しかし,発音時刻,ビート時刻の検出は自動であり,正確な検出ができるわけではない.加えて,可視化結果が本来のジャズの演奏の特徴を見いだせているかの疑問が残っている.今後は,可視化結果の妥当性を実際の演奏を聴いてもらいながら専門家から評価を得ることで検証するとともに,妥当であった場合,より多様な楽曲に対して可視化を試みていきたい.
