In this article, the research of scientists on the origin of Karakul sheep is presented and the bioproductive characteristics of animals bred in the foothill semi-desert of the Surkhandarya region is studied. It is shown that the Karakul sheep as a unique breed is not only the material wealth of the country, but also its cultural and spiritual wealth.
