After analysing the question of the existence of an Eastern philosophy, still denied today by various scholars - a denial that justifies the almost total absence of non-Western philosophies in the teaching of philosophy in Italian schools - the paper dwells on the possibility of a comparative and intercultural teaching of philosophy, reasoning on the objectives and method. Therefore, five paths are proposed to include authors and themes of Chinese thought in the teaching of philosophy, grasping analogies and differences with European thought: the good life (Socrates and Confucius), evil (Plato and Mencius and Xunzi), tyrannicide (Thomas Aquinas and Mencius), political realism (Machiavelli and Hobbes and the Lord of Shang) and joy (Spinoza and Taoism).
