Distribution in India: North west, Central and East Himalayas, Nagaland, Meghalaya (Cherrapunji, Shillong) (Hampson 1892, Fletcher 1925), Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur (Irungbam et al. 2020, Sanyal et al. 2018, Mitra et al. 2019, Joshi et al. 2021a); Himanchal Pradesh (Pathania et al. 2021). Global records: Bangladesh, Nepal, northern Thailand (Zolotuhin & Pinratana 2005); Taiwan, Bhutan, Laos (Hauenstein et al. 2011). Remark: Addition to nominate subspecies, the other subspecies are distributed in central and southern China, northern Vietnam (L. n. sinna Lajonquière, 1979), Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra (L. n. sumatrana Tams, 1935), Java (L. n. malaccana Tams 1935)
