Parangolés (2008) was written during my second year of masters studies at the University of Victoria. In my analysis of Parangolés, I will begin with an analysis of my integration and fusion of Lachenmann and Oiticica’s aesthetics in my own compositional work. I will then shed light on how Grisey’s theories influenced this piece. Submitted As Requirement To Obtain A Master Of Music Degree, University of Victoria, BC, Canada, May 2008.
