NERSC MarCoast services are named “Water quality monitoring of the North Sea, Kattegat and Skagerrak” and “HAB detection, alert and forecasting for Norwegian waters” (WP3430). Both services provides information map products and assessment reports based on MERIS data, covering the EO products for distribution of (i) chlorophyll-a, (ii) true colour (RGB) image and (iii) sea surface temperature for the Norwegian and adjacent coastal waters (the extended North Sea area). Additional EO products provided are (iv) the total suspended matter and (v) the dissolved organic matter, primarily used for water quality monitoring. These MarCaost Services are complementary to activities initiated under the Norwegian SatOcean program funded by the Norwegian Space Centre. Service and product functional description. A production line for EO data acquisition, processing, products generation, and dissemination for both of the MarCoast services has been implemented. The satellite based information are being ingested into the service in near real-time on “daily” basis. The products are generated according to a specific processing chain for our service.
