The article analyzes M. K. Čiurlionis worldview. It’s being argued that the works of Lithuanian artists as well as his genius can be understood only after reconstructing the depth of his inner world and soul. The worldview, the way of life, ethical and aesthetical views as well as religious and philosophical attitudes are reflected in the works of the artist and lead towards their understanding. Unfortunately too often researchers tend to see features that are alien to the artist’s worldview. Applying the historical comparative analysis they try to put Lithuanian genius into „the right spot“ within the artistic and cultural context of his time. Such attempts very often are condemned to failure. Therefore, the aim of the article is to reconstruct the personality, genius, philosophical and religious views of M. K. Čiurlionis that transcend the boundaries of his epoch. It is revealed that the worldview of the artist is being constructed upon the eternal spiritual values that are common to mankind and his religious and philosophical views are based upon essential transcendental principles of harmony while his works reveal visions of the soul.
