Caracterización de las pacientes obstétricas en la emergencia del Hospital Regional Docente Ambato

Abstract

Introducción: El manejo de la paciente obstétrica constituye un tema de gran importancia, ya que es necesario garantizar el término del embarazo con resultados satisfactorios para la madre y el niño, evitando así posibles muertes maternas o infantiles. El objetivo general de nuestro estudio fue describir la morbimortalidad obstétrica en el servicio de urgencias del Hospital Regional Docente Ambato durante el pico de la pandemia por COVID-19. Metodología: Se estudiaron los registros de las atenciones en urgencias del hospital en el periodo enero septiembre del 2020, mediante un estudio observacional, retrospectivo, descriptivo. En este trabajo se hace énfasis en la paciente obstétrica en el período durante el embarazo y alrededor del parto, incluyendo el puerperio inmediato. Resultados y Conclusión: se evidencio que en el servicio de urgencias del hospital Regional Docente Ambato de una totalidad de 1082 pacientes atendidos en urgencias, 92 de estos se correspondían con pacientes obstétricas. La mayor morbilidad correspondió con los partos eutócicos con 39 pacientes. En el servicio de urgencias se realizaron 126 pruebas de Transcripción Reversa de Reacción en Cadena de Polimerasa (RT-PCR), 92 de ellas a la totalidad de las pacientes obstetricas atendidas en el servicio de urgencias, resultando el virus identificado en 46 pacientes. El grupo de edades mas afectado en las pacientes COVID fue el de 18 a 33 años, con una edad promedio de 27 años. La morbilidad por COVID predomino en las pacientes obstericas, en el tercer trimestre del embarazo, 11 de ellas con sufrimiento fetal.
