Abstract

The article discusses the role of Professor Walery Goetel in creating a national park in the Pieniny Mountains and the idea of creating other parks on the border of Czechoslovakia and Poland. His cooperation with representatives of scientific, tourist and government institutions in the field of nature protection is also presented. Extensive documentation preserved in the Archive of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences was used.
