In the conditions of the aquaculture of Azerbaijan on the basis of Khilly Sturgeon Fish Hatchery reproduction stock of various species of sturgeons was formed on the basis of the young fish of artificial generation which total quantity is equal to more than 4000 individuals. For the first time in the sturgeonbreeding practice of Azerbaijan Republic on the fish-breeding purposes males of Persian (Kura) sturgeon from the reproduction stock, grown up «from hard-roe» in the conditions of hatchery have been used. This information witnesses the availability of forming of reproduction stock of various species sturgeons in fishbreeding hatcheries. Creation of reproductive herds in sturgeon fish-breeding hatcheries will allow to preserve of gene pool of sturgeon fish and to expand the possibilities of their artificial reproduction for release to natural water reservoirs.
