In this article, a total of eight Nicaean doctors, six known from Nikaia and its territorium, one from Thessalia and one from Rome, are presented. These previously published inscriptions are reassembled and studied, with an emphasis upon the Nicaean doctors. In addition, the movement of doctors to different regions is examined and the fact that the profession of medicine is a tradition passed from father to son is highlighted from the inscriptions, with the inscription of Peisistratos and Apollodotos and their families providing a good example of this tradition. It was also considered remarkable that the inscription found in Thessalia does not carry the name of the grave owner, but refers to his profession and emphasizes it in poetic language. This indicates that these people through indicating their professions in all the grave inscriptions examined, may have emphasized the prestige of this profession.
