The ancient DNA field uses a collection of specialized terms, as well as a specific vocabulary to describe its purposes, methodologies, results, and interpretations, which may be unfamiliar and unclear/obscure to scientists of other disciplines, such as archaeologists, anthropologists, historians, etc. To this end, in order to fill the comprehension gap and enable easier multidisciplinary communication, the Ancient DNA Lab of IMBB-FORTH compiled a list of terms, frequently used in the ancient DNA field that can serve as a thesaurus for everybody.
