As a result of years of research 14 species of predatory beetles (Coleoptera), reducing the number of xylophages, which damage trees and shrubs in forests and orchards of Azerbaijan were revealed. The possibility of the usage of ten species as biological control agents of xylophages was assessed. Data on bioecological peculiarities, distribution and agricultural importance of the studied species of beetles have been provided in the paper.
