Genetic affinity of 88 samples from 21 local wheat varieties was estimated using the Acid-PAGE method based on the storage protein - gliadin. The gliadin spectra obtained by electrophoresis were numbered in a binary system, and a dendrogram was compiled using the SPSS computer program to determine the genetic affinity of the samples. According to the dendrogram, the samples were distributed in 10 clusters. Blocks of alleles of gliadin-coding loci were found in the studied wheat varieties. 32 spectra and 108 various protein patterns were detected in ω-, γ-, β- and α-zones of gliadin electrophoregrams of the samples and the Nei’s genetic diversity index (H-) was calculated.
