grammar and texts of the Jenaama or Sorogaama language (Bozo family, Mande macrofamily) as spoken in villages near Djenné in central Mali, West Africa. Attached is nonfinal draft of the lexicon in Excel spreadsheet form with separate pages for nouns, adjectives, verbs, numerals, and "other" (mostly grammatical particles); other pages can be disregarded. There is currently an unresolved issue as to the language name and its geographical demarcation. Sorogaama previously, and Jenaama recently, have been used to denote a wide range of Bozo varieties. Comparison of this grammar and lexicon with those of Cliffs Jenaama (previously uploaded) makes it likely that they belong to different languages; if so, Jenaama is properly applied to Cliffs and Sorogaama is properly applied to the Djenné-area varieties.
