Abstract

We have developed lessons aimed at high school students titled The Fundamentals of Galaxies. There are three modules, each with a link to a five question Kahoot! quiz to evaluate comprehension. Module 1 covers the history of galaxies with the following learning objectives: Describing what a galaxy is Understanding the origin of the term "galaxy" Describing the history of galaxies Demonstrating how galaxies were discovered Module 2 covers the types of galaxies with the following learning objectives: Understanding galaxy types Describing the features for each type of galaxy Demonstrating how new galaxies are classified Module 3 covers galaxy formation and organization with the following learning objectives: Describing how galaxies form Understanding how galaxies relate to the structure of the Universe
