DISTRIBUTION: Pakistan to Taiwan, south to Sri Lanka and W Malaysia, southeast to Philippines and Aru Isis (Indonesia). SYNONYMS: castaneus, collinus, consobrinus, gairdneri, panayensis, solutatus, swinhoei, temmincki, wroughtoni. COMMENTS: Generally called temmincki; but see Hill and Thonglongya (1972:191-193).
