TYPE LOCALITY: Russia, N Caucasus, Karachayevo-Cherkess Autonomous Region, upper North Klukhor River at Klukhor Pass, 2100 meters. DISTRIBUTION: NW Caucasus; see Sokolov et al. (1987a). COMMENTS: Sokolov et al. (1981 b, 1987b) gave karyological and phallic characters that distinguished this species from S. caucasico and S. concolor, S. armenica (Sokolov and Baskevich, 1988), and S. kazbegica (Sokolov et al., 1986b).
