The prevalence of most parasitic diseases of poultry is significantly reduced in commercial farming systems as a result of improved conditions of keeping, hygiene and management. However, parasitic diseases are still of great importance in intensive farming systems on deep litter or in “ free range” breeding. A large number of parasites can cause disruptions in productivity, such as reduced weight gain, poor feed conversion, reduced egg production and even fatal outcome in severe infestation. In the practical part of the survey we examined poultry feces of different categories and age, from different poultry farms. Research has proven the presence of intestinal parasites Heterakis gallinarum, Ascaridia galli, Eimeria spp. and Blastocystis spp. in poultry fecal material. About all of this parasites, except Blastocystis we know more or less everything. For the reason Blastocystis is an emerging parasite in poultry production our discussion is mainly based on this zoonotic protozoa.
