Education for sustainable development (ESD) leads to the development of the knowledge, skills, understanding, values and actions required to create a sustainable world, which ensures environmental protection and conservation, promotes social equity and encourages economic sustainability. Sustainability education encompasses all school subjects and extends far beyond the classroom. It gives students actual skills they can use to improve the world. It provides today's children with the independent they must for tomorrow.
