This unpublished paper discusses conditional constructions in Basaa. The paper starts with a review of conditionals as discussed in Bitjaa Kody (1990)'s doctoral thesis. Then the author discusses the typology and functions of conditional constructions namely, assertive conditionals, non assertive conditionals, concessive conditionals and rethorical conditionals.
This paper was submitted to the journal Studies in African Linguistics Volume 46, Number 2 but was rejected and has neither been reworked nor resubmitted to another publication outlet.
