COMMENT: Subgenus Oligoryzomys; see Massoia, 1973, Rev. Invest. Agro. INTA, ser. 1, 10(l):21— 37, and Myers and Carleton, 1981, Misc. Publ. Mus. Zool. Univ. Mich., 161:25-28, who also recommended that longitarsus (which may represent the earliest name for this species) be considered a nomen dubium.
